South Carolina's Genetic Counseling License Application Has Been Released!

South Carolina's Application is Live!

South Carolina is moving at lighting speed! They held their first board meeting last Friday. As I was working on a summary of the 4-hour meeting for you all, they released their application! Here's what we know:

• Applications will be accepted online here​

• One notarized form is required to be uploaded.

• The application fee is $600

• A copy of your photo ID, social security card, and name change document (if applicable) must be uploaded

• License verifications are required, but the board has said they will accept emailed verifications from the applicant as long as they contain the name, license number, issue date, expiration date, and disciplinary status (find your states’ verification look-up sites here.)

• All GCs practicing in the state must be licensed by April 30th, 2025

• Licenses will expire on April 30th of odd-numbered years, starting in 2027
